Indian Idol 12: After Amit Kumar’s controversy, Aditya Narayan takes a dig at him yet again; check it out

Indian Idol 12 host Aditya Narayan has been taking subtle or [not-so] subtle digs at singer Amit Kumar ever since the Kishore Kumar tribute episode aired. After that episode, singer Amit Kumar had expressed that he was not happy with the tribute given to the legendary singer and that he was forced to praise the contestants. While Aditya in an interview had said that he was shocked to see Amit speak like that, he clearly has not yet gotten over it. In an upcoming episode, Aditya will be seen asking guests on the show, Kumar Sanu, Anuradha Paudwal, and Roop Kumar Rathod if they have been forced to praise the contestants as well.

In a video shared by Sony TV, Aditya Narayan is seen interacting with the guests on the show. He is seen asking them something ‘important’ before the show ends so that there is no confusion later on. He asked, “Aapne humare contestants ki jo itni taarif ki hai, dil se ki hai ya humare team se kisi ne bola hai karne ko (Was it honest praise or did the Indian Idol team asked you to do it)?” Understanding where this was coming from, Kumar Sanu appreciated being asked this and said, “Ekdum dil see. (directly from the heart).” He added, “They are really great singers and performed amazingly. All of them could pass off as playback singers right now. I have never seen so many talented people on one reality show. Each one of them is a heera (diamond).”

For those unaware, Amit Kumar was quoted by ETimes saying, “I did what I was told. I was told sabko praise kamana hai. I was told jo jaisa bhi gaaye usko uplift karna hai because it’s a tribute to Kishore da. I thought it will be a homage to my father. But once there, I just followed what I was asked to do. I had told them to give me portions of the script in advance, but nothing of that sort happened.”
