Indian Idol 12: Amitabh Bachchan’s granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda is a fan of THIS contestant

Indian Idol 12 has been making headlines for several reasons this season. Apart from the performances of the contestants, the reality show has been stirring a number of controversies after questions were raised on its authenticity. After an episode on Kishore Kumar aired, Amit Kumar, who had visited as a guest, raised several questions on the show which started a huge debate amongst the viewers, the host, and others. Among all this, Indian Idol 12 contestant Sawai Bhatt has managed to impress Amitabh Bachchan’s granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda.

Navya Naveli Nanda shared a photo of Sawai on her Instagram story where the contestant is seen singing Udit Narayan’s song. Navya used several emojis to express her support to Sawai. Sawai’s performance had left even Udit Narayan shocked. He praised her in an interview with BollywoodLife and said, “During my childhood, my favourite hobby was watching Kathputli acts (Puppet show) and, I used to spend hours and hours watching them. It is because of this that I feel like I have a personal attachment with Sawai Bhat. The way he has progressed since joining the show has been outstanding. I can proudly say that he is one of Indian Idol’s finest talent of this season.”

Udit Narayan was accompanied by Abhijeet Bhattacharya during the episode which aired on Saturday. The episode was followed by veteran actor Zeenat Aman who visited Indian Idol 12 as the celebrity guest.

Meanwhile, host Aditya Narayan has been visibly upset after the controversy stirred around the reality show. Singers like Sunidhi Chauhan agreed that a lot of times they were directed on what to speak and hence she chose to never return to the show as a judge.
