‘Indian Idol 12’: Touched by a contestant’s struggle story, Neha Kakkar gifts him Rs 1 lakh- watch video

These days talent hunt shows have become a platform for anyone and everyone to take a chance and showcase their talent to the world. Over the years we have seen many success stories of several contestants. And looks like the latest season of ‘Indian Idol’ is all set to introduce the audience to many such talented contestants who come from a humble background.

In the latest promo of ‘Indian Idol 12’, we meet Shahzad Ali whose back story is so touching that it brought tears to the eyes of all the judges- Neha Kakkar, Vishal Dadlani and Himesh Reshammiya. Neha was so moved by Shahzad’s story that she even offered him a whopping sum of Rs 1 lakh! Yes, you read that right. Read on to know why Neha was so touched by the contestant’s life story.

In the promo, we can see Shahzad playing the harmonium as he sings Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s ‘Kinna Sohna Tenu’ song. Later he reveals that he works in a small cloth in the city. He also shares that his mother died when he was too young and it was her grandmother (Nani) who brought him up.

He went on to share that in order to just to reach Mumbai, his Nani loaned a sum of Rs 5000 from the bank. His story moved all the judges. Neha was the one who got teary-eyed and she came forward and offered Rs. 1 lakh to Shahzad. Whereas Vishal said that he will help him find a Guru, under whose guidance he can flourish.

Sony TV channel’s official Instagram handle shared a promo of the show’s upcoming episode and captioned it as, “Shahzad Ali from Jaipur touched the judge’s hearts so much that Neha Kakkar couldn’t help herself but gift him something amazing! Get ready to make your mausam awesome, with #IndianIdol2020, from 28th Nov.”
