Indian Idol 12: Neha Kakkar receives ‘shagun’ from Neetu Kapoor; watch video

Indian Idol 12 will be hosting a special episode on late actor Rishi Kapoor this weekend. Neetu Kapoor will grace the show as a special guest. In the episode, the contestants will be paying a tribute to the late actor by singing his popular songs. In a new promo, Neetu Kapoor is seen giving shagun to judge Neha Kakkar on meeting her for the first time after the singer’s marriage. Neetu said that it is an Indian tradition that when one meets newlyweds for the first time, shagun is given as blessings.

The promo starts with the song Ek Main Aur Ek Tu from Neetu and Rishi Kapoor’s movie Khel Khel Mein and she enters the Indian Idol 12 stage while dancing with host Aditya Narayan. As she enters, everyone stands up along with the judges. She says that no one will get sad as she wants to celebrate her memories with her husband Rishi Kapoor. She also says that she last came to the show with Rishi and she needed the courage to come without him now.

Giving an envelope i.e shagun to Neha, Neetu says, “This is from my and Rishi ji’s side. Lots of blessings to you.” Neha got hitched to Rohanpreet Singh on October 24, 2020, in Delhi.

Rishi Kapoor passed away on April 30 last year after suffering from leukemia. Listening to the songs performed by the top 10 contestants of Indian Idol 12, Neetu Kapoor goes back to her old days and shares memories with them. She also encourages the contestants with her kind words.

On the work front, Neetu Kapoor will be seen in Jug Jugg Jeeyo that also stars Anil Kapoor, Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani.
