Indian Idol 12: Udit Narayan BREAKS his silence on Amit Kumar-Aditya Narayan controversy

Off late, Indian Idol 12 is grabbing headlines for all the wrong reasons. From stirring up several controversies to receiving flak from its own special judges, in the past few weeks, we have seen it all. Now Udit Narayan has reacted to Amit Kumar’s shocking remarks on the singing reality show.

For the unversed, after the Kishore Kumar special episode, Amit Kumar had said that he was asked to praise all the contestants irrespective of their performances. Amit even said that he wanted to stop the episode midway. Later, Indian Idol 12 host Aditya Narayan had taken a sly dig at Amit. And now Udit Narayan has reacted to the controversy.

Commenting on Amit’s remarks, Udit told Aaj Tak, “I saw Amit’s episode, I could see that he enjoyed it (the performances). When you agreed to be on the show, you should not have said such things after coming out. Now, I have said this and I will also be dragged into it like Aditya.”

Speaking about his son Aditya, the veteran singer said, “Aditya is not mature yet. He is childish and emotional. He has been on the show (Indian Idol) for some time and has got attached to it. That is why he got too sensitive. If you see, no one from the platform spoke (about the controversy) and the entire burden came upon Aditya. I did not say anything to him as I fear he may go into depression, with so many people already on his case. But I will ask him, once all this is over, why was it that he got caught while everyone else (from the show) remained clean?”

After Aditya took a dig at Amit Kumar, he was slammed by a section of the netizens. Let’s hope this controversy ends here.
