Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is one of the longest running TV shows. In the latest episode, TMKOC makers teased fans about Disha Vakani aka Dayaben’s return. In the viral clip, Dilip Joshi’s character Jethalal informs his son Tapu about his mother, Dayaben’s return. Following the release of TMKOC’s episode, fans were left disappointed. Soon ‘Boycott TMKOC’ started trending on X (formerly known as Twitter). Amid this, many were left wondering if TMKOC would go off-air. Now, Asit Modi has issued a statement in which he clarified that Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is not going off-air.

According to News18, Asit said, “I’m here to entertain my audience and I will never lie to my viewers. Only due to certain circumstances, we are unable to bring Daya’s character back on time. But, that does not mean that the character is not going is not going to enter the show at all!”

He added, “Whether it is Disha Vakani or someone else, the time will tell. But, it’s my promise to the audience that Daya will be back, and Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is not going nowhere. It is not an easy task to run a comedy show for fifteen years. It is one of a kind, which has not witnessed a single leap.”

Disha Vakani’s character Dayaben is one of the most loved characters. Her dialogues ‘Tapu Ke Papa’ to ‘Heyy Maa Mataji’ will never get old. She went on indefinite maternity leave in 2017 and has not returned since then. Time and again, Asit Modi has opened up about Disha’s break. Fans are still waiting for her comeback on the popular show TMKOC.
