Actor Jennifer Mistry accused Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah producer Asit Modi of sexual harassment last year. Jennifer faced a lot of criticism from people and was then replaced by Monaz Mevawalla. Now, Jennifer seemed to have taken a sigh of relief as she won the case of sexual harassment against Asit Modi. Even though she is content that the court understood her case, Jennifer awaits for her dues to get cleared.
Confirming the news, Jennifer told ETimes, “The verdict is in my favour, confirming the allegations I made with strong evidence. This outcome surpasses what the police achieved in the past year.”
Jennifer Mistry reveals Asit Modi to pay her an extra Rs 5 lakh
Mistry told the portal, “Asit Kumar Modi has been ordered to pay me my due amount. An additional compensation for deliberately withholding my payment, totalling around Rs 25-30 lakh. An extra Rs 5 lakh is imposed on Mr Modi for harassment. The verdict was out on 15th Feb 2024, but I was asked not to share it in the media. I believe a woman’s reputation matters most. It’s been over 40 days, and I still haven’t received my due amount, which I earned through hard work on the serial (TMKOC).“
“Despite proving Mr Modi guilty of sexual harassment, no punishment has been given to all three accused. Sohil and Jatin weren’t included in the verdict, which disappoints me. The local committee ordered my due amount, which I deserve. This verdict clears that my case was not fabricated, and I wasn’t seeking cheap publicity. While I’m glad my harassment was recognised, I don’t feel I’ve received proper justice yet,” she added.
Jennifer Mistry essayed the role of Roshan Singh Sodhi in the popular show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah.
