Television actor Lokendra Singh Rajawat is going through one of the worst phases of his life. The Jodha Akbar actor had to get his leg amputated up to knee due to high-stress levels which shot up his blood sugar beyond normal limits. In a recent interview, Lokendra also revealed how the Covid-19 pandemic increased his woes by adding to his financial strain.
Lokendra has featured in popular shows like Jodha Akbar, CID, Crime Patrol and Yeh Hai Mohabbatein to name a few. He also has films like Ranbir Kapoor’s Jagga Jasoos, and Meezaan Jaferi’s Malaal to his credit. Speaking about his 5 hours long surgery, Lokendra told ETimes, “It all began when I developed a corn in my right foot and I neglected it. It became an infection that percolated into the bone marrow and in no time, had spread in my body. I developed gangrene. The only way to save myself was to get the leg amputated till the knee.”

The 50-year-old actor went on to stress how the erratic work schedule of actors has an adverse effect on their health. “I wish I had taken care when my diabetes began about 10 years ago. We actors often have no fixed timings when shooting and our erratic hours of lunch and work have an adverse effect on our health. Add this to the stress. All this leads to diabetes and not if you are fond of sweets,” he told the portal.
Amid the pandemic, getting work was a task for the actor. He mentioned receiving financial aid from Cine And TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA) for his treatment. Lokendra is planning to get an artificial leg after his wound heals.
We wish the actor a speedy recovery.
