‘Kasautii Zindagii Kay’: Aamna Sharif replaces Hina Khan as Komolika in Ekta Kapoor’s show

Ekta Kapoor’s serials are the reason why the majority of the viewers are still glued to their idiot boxes. Ekta’s latest serial ‘Kasautii Zindagii Kay’, which is a reboot of her own hit show is now ruling the small screens. Starring Parth Samthaan, Erica Fernandes and Karan Singh Grover in the lead, ‘Kasautii Zindagii Kay’ saw Hina Khan playing the antagonist.

However, Hina quit the show recently to concentrate on her Bollywood dreams and ever since then the makers were on a hunt for her replacement. Looks like, Ekta has finally found her Komolika and its none other than Aamna Sharif.

Aamna rose to popularity after playing Kashish in ‘Kahiin Toh Hoga’. She later went on to star in a few films like ‘Aloo Chaat’ and ‘Shakal Pe Mat Ja’. The actress is excited to be a part of ‘Kasautii Zindagii Kay’ and is looking forward to playing a vamp for the first time in her career.

Sharing about her excitement on being a part of the show and being back on the small screen after a hiatus, Aamna told Times of India, “The reason for the break was the need to reinvent my personal life. It would have been easy to stay in my comfort zone and come back with a love story, but that wouldn’t have satiated me as an actor. It’s always a different kind of rush to surprise your audience. So, when I was offered the role of Komolika, I instinctively knew that this is what will challenge me the most as an actor.”

So now that Aamna is making a comeback after a long time her fans will definitely rejoice at this development. Also, it would be interesting to see her play a negative character for the first time.
