Kaun Banega Crorepati 13 aka KBC 13 contestant Pranshu Tripathi left the show after winning Rs 50 lakhs as he was not knowing the Rs 1 crore question. If he had played and won, he would have been the second crorepati of the season. However, he was not sure of the answer and said that he would like to quit the show. For the unversed, Himani Bundela was the first crorepati of the show. She took home Rs 1 crore last month. However, she quit the show after winning a crore as she was unsure of the answer to the Rs 7 crore jackpot question.
For those who missed the episode, on Thursday’s episode, Pranshu answered 14 questions correctly and reached Rs 1 crore question. However, he had exhausted all his lifelines. The Rs 1 crore question was: “The royal ship, Ganj-i-Sawai, which was looted by the British pirate Henry Every, was the property of which Indian ruler?” The options that were given: Tipu Sultan, Haider Ali, Aurangzeb and Baji Rao II. The correct answer was Aurangzeb.
“On September 7, 1965, when Ganj-i-Sawai was heading back from Mecca, the pirate Henry Every seized the ship. It is considered one of the most high-value heists by a pirate. This heist not only made the Mughal king lose gems and wealth but also most of his artillery crew,” Amitabh told Pranshu in Hindi.
Earlier in the episode of KBC 13, Pranshu said that he always carries a picture of cricketer Rohit Sharma in his wallet. Amitabh joked that Pranshu how does not carry his girlfriend’s picture but of Sharma’s. When asked to choose between his beau and Sharma. Pranshu replied saying that Big B’s question is a more difficult question than the one for Rs7 crore, and how he does not even have a lifeline. This reply left Amitabh in splits.
