Kuch Toh Hai EXCLUSIVE: Harsh Rajput reflects on 15 year journey in industry, facing rejections and dream role

Harsh Rajput, who plays Rehan (a vampire) in Kuch Toh Hai, is all set to complete 15 years in the Television industry. The actor began his acting career back in 2006 with small roles in periodic episodes. With this hard work and dedication, he soon got pivotal roles and later started playing leads. Best known as Ansh Rathod from Nazar, Harsh received enormous appreciation for his power-packed performance.

Recently, we got in an exclusive chat with Harsh Rajput, where he reflected on his 15-year journey in the world of entertainment. “It has been a fantastic journey. I’ve always said that the roles I’m doing today, it is not because of the auditions that I gave. But, it is because all these 15 years I’ve worked so hard and pushed my boundaries,” said Harsh.

He added, “It is the 15-year journey that has brought me to where I am today. ‘Mene agar woh nahi kiya hota to shayad me aaj yeh nahi kar pata.’ So, yes it has been fruitful, God has been kind to me. Luckily, I’ve always been around the correct people. I always say, whatever I am today is because of my family and friends who have supported me throughout.”

Like many other actors, it has not been a bed of roses for Harsh. He has had his ups and downs while trying to make a mark. Opening up about facing rejections, he revealed, “Rejections always keep happening. I’ve faced about 90 to 98% rejections, and 2% of acceptance. Looking back in time, when I used to do commercials, and films, if I gave 100 auditions, I used to get selected in merely 4 of them. I have been thrown out of the studios, stating that I don’t fit the part. But, I think that is life. You have to face rejections to have a fruitful journey ahead.”

Ask him how he overcame difficulties and kept going on, Harsh asserts, “It does you know, after all, I’m also a human. There are bad days. There are times when you feel really low, and pondering over why these things are happening to you. So, there are good and bad days both. And that is the beauty of life, who have to go through some lows to realize and cherish the good days coming forward.”

Sharing his ‘success mantra,’ Harsh said, “Keep working hard, believe in yourself, and always be grateful for whatever you have. Also, always be around your family and friends, who love you.”

The young actor has played versatile roles onscreen. When asked about his ‘dream role,’ Harsh explained, “All the roles that I’m playing now or have played, were once upon a time my dreams. So, whatever opportunity I’m getting, I’m making it my dream come true. I have not restricted myself to any particular genre or type, I want to explore and experiment as much and as far as I can. I don’t want to put myself in a mould, but rather be a free bird, trying out different things in life and career.”

Meanwhile, Kuch Toh Hai is a spin-off of Naagin 5, which also stars Krishna Mukherjee as Priya in the lead roles. The show premiered on February 7, 2021.
