To contain the spread and surge of COVID 19, the Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray Tuesday announced strict restrictions. The CM declared a 15-day curfew from April 14 to May 1. The ‘mini lockdown’ in the state will be intact between 8 PM on April 14 to 7 AM on May 1. With new rules and guidelines, only essential services will be operated, putting a stall to other activities. This COVID curfew Maharastra has also shut shootings.
According to the new curbs imposed by the Govt, no one, except those engaged in essential services and those exempted, will be allowed to move in public places without a valid reason, unless it’s for essential work. As per the rules, ‘Recreation, Entertainment, shops, malls and shopping centres, etc’ will remain closed. This means Cinema Halls, Drama Theaters and Adutiorims are closed. The guidelines clearly state, ‘Shooting of Films, Serials, Advertisements to be closed.’
It is the second time that the shootings of films, shows and ads have been stalled in the state owing to the COVID pandemic. Last year, the shootings came to a standstill due to the virus, till March 31, and it led to a lot of problems.
