Though Mahira Sharma appeared in a few television shows, she became more popular with her stint in ‘Bigg Boss 13’ house. She played quite well but before one week of the finale, she bid adieu to the show. Recently, Mahira Sharma posted on her Instagram story showcasing that she has received the certificate of appreciation for being the ‘Most Fashionable Contestant of Bigg Boss 13’ at Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2020. But according to the DPIFF officials, it is actually a forged award. They accused Mahira of sharing a fraudulent certificate on social media.
Sharing the statement on their Instagram handle, they wrote, “DPIFF OFFICIAL STATEMENT Our official statement on @officialmahirasharma for forging the prestigious certificate of Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2020.”
The statement read, “This said certificate of appreciation has not been issued by any team member of DPIFF or the associates involved in the event and hence is considered to be forged. This fraudulent certificate has clearly violated the DPIFF’s IP based assets and the brand collaterals as they have been used without the consent of the organization to create this accolade.”
They also wrote in the statement that the ‘immoral’ and ‘distasteful’ attempt by Mahira has created an ‘irreversible damage to the brand’s image and reputation’.
DPIFF’s team has issued an intimation letter asking her to take down all the misleading PR activities done by her and her team and have also asked her to share a written public apology to the brand within the next 48 hours.
