Mahira Sharma hits back on allegations of donating food as PR stunt; says “It’s convenient to sit in front of the social media and judge”

Due to the outbreak of Coronavirus, everyone’s basic needs are being compromised. Amidst this time of crisis, ‘Bigg Boss 13’s Mahira Sharma and Paras Chhabra took it upon themselves to give away basic food supplies to needy people. But, the duo was brutally bashed online for being a show-off. Mahira made sure to shut the trolls with her feisty response.

Mahira and Paras’ kind gesture was termed as a publicity stunt because they posted the video online of them helping poor people even though she had clarified that they are doing it so that others get inspired. Mahira opened up in an interview with Latestly on the trolls. “It’s convenient to sit in front of the social media and monitor others to judge and comment on others and their actions but it is difficult to come out and help those in pain, feed them, and comfort them. I am using my social media to encourage and motivate people to help each other rather than making funny videos on alcohol and making a mockery of this situation. Others’ vulnerability is not funny….”

Earlier sharing her video on Instagram, Mahira has written, “We do understand most of you think it is showoff and we respect your views. Even we believe that donation is something we do from our heart and there shouldn’t be any evidence of the same. But honestly it was an genuine effort to motivate people to do their bit in these trying times. We are all in this together guys. We have a shared purpose. That’s all we would want to say right now. Stay positive and stay safe! We will get through this…together! @parasvchhabrra(sic).”
