Stand up comedian and Bigg Boss 17 winner Munawar Faruqui has received threats from jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. Only recently, his members have accepted to murder NCP leader Baba Siddique. According to the reports, Mumbai Police have given security to Faruqui because of threats from the Bishnoi gang, said police officials. A police officer said they received information about a potential threat to the comedian from the gang and while the reason for the threat is still unclear, the police are investigating the matter.

Munawar Faruqui recieved police protection after Bishnoi’s gang memeber tried to kill him. It was reported that his gang members had planned to execute him in Delhi; however, with the timely action of the intelligence agency, the attack was foiled and Munawar was removed from the scene and given police protection. “The gang was furious over his gag on Hindu gods. Shooters were tasked with the hit job at a Delhi event in Sep. They travelled with him on the same flight from Mumbai and were even booked at the hotel where he was scheduled to stay. However, intelligence agencies alerted Delhi police, and the plan was foiled,” said an official privy to the development. Reportedly, he has been recieving threats from the past few years.
