Naagin 6: Rubina Dilaik to not play main Naagin; Nazar fame Niyati Fatnani roped in instead?

Ekta Kapoor’s Naagin franchise is one of the most awaited ones on Indian Television. The previous five seasons to the show did well for the channel, even as Naagin 4 and 5 struggled amid the pandemic. Last season saw Surbhi Chandna, Sharad Malhotra, Mohit Sehgal channel their offscreen bond onscreen making it for a charismatic trio. Recently, there were rumours that Bigg Boss 14 winner Rubina Dilaik might be roped in to play the main Naagin on the show. However, according to new reports, Nazar fame Niyati Fatnani has been considered to play the lead in Naagin 6.

Niyati Fatnani can be best remembered for playing the role of Pia in Nazar. Nazar too was a supernatural drama and her character Pia stemmed her position as an actress. A source close to the production informed SpotBoye, “Auditions are being done for the new season of Naagin 6 and there are high chances that Niyati Fatnani will play the lead in the show. The actress was also considered for season 5 but Surbhi Chandana was finalised later. But this time the makers are keen on finalising Niyati for the role.”

For those unaware, Mouni Roy was the first Naagin for the franchise. After being a part of the first two seasons, Mouni was replaced with Surbhi Jyoti as the main Naagin in the third season. Surbhi Jyoti’s Naagin 3 continues to be the best season so far for the franchise. Naagin 4 starred Nia Sharma in the lead role and struggled to keep up the momentum while Surbhi Chandna’s Naagin 5 did reasonably well, thanks to their onscreen chemistry.
