Nakuul Mehta made quite the impression on the 72nd Republic Day as he defined the true definition of Republic. The actor recited a poem titled Too Much Democracy. He spoke about the ills of society. Nakuul spoke about how social media has blown up the ill effects in 2020. The actor won a lot of praise over these series of poems.
Too Much Democracy is a collection of poems in collaboration with Ajay Singh. Every poem is standalone that talks about the ‘major events and ideas that shaped the world in 2020’.
The description on YouTube read, “#TooMuchDemocracy, India’s first Hindi Poetry Special, is a collaboration between artists Nakuul Mehta and Ajay Singh as the first part of their Poems For Democracy Series. The series is purely an artistic attempt to evaluate the state of our democracy through a series of poems on major events and ideas that shaped the world in 2020. A very critical year for our planet and our country.”
Nakul took to his Instagram and talking about Too Much Democracy he wrote, “Our poetry special #TooMuchDemocracy is now LIVE on the @kommuneity youtube channel. TMD is a collection of poems, written by @ajax.singh, interspersed by dialogues and conversations about the year gone by and the major news stories that happened. Each poem, while a standalone, is also a part of the whole that talks about all the events and major happenings in our society or even the world in general over the previous year. Social, political, cultural. Big shout to our key collaborators who have made TMD come alive with their art (sic)”
