Pearl V Puri sent to judicial custody by Vasai court; deets inside

Television actor Pearl V Puri was arrested in Mumbai for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor girl years ago. A case was registered against Puri by the victim’s father in 2019. Reportedly, he was booked under Sections 376 AB (Punishment for rape on woman under 12 years of age) of the Indian Penal Code, and Sections 4, 8, 12, 19 and 21 under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012.

A few hours back, there were reports that Pearl has been granted bail in the case. But as per a report by ANI, the Vasai court has sent Pearl Puri to judicial custody.

The next hearing is reportedly on Monday. Let’s see what happens then. Till then the Naagin 3 actor will be in judicial custody only.

For the unversed, the Waliv police in Vasai, Mumbai, registered a rape case against six persons including Pearl V Puri. All six were taken into custody and were interrogated.

Pearl made his acting debut with Dil Ki Nazar Se Khoobsurat in 2013 but he became popular with Phir Bhi Na Maane…Badtameez Dil. He also appeared in shows like Naagin 3, Naagarjuna Ek Yoddha and Bepanah Pyaar. He was last seen in Brahmarakshas 2 where he played Angad Mehra.

After Pearl was arrested, his friends from the industry like Anita Hassanandini, Ekta Kapoor, Karishma Tanna, and others came in support of the actor whereas Twitterati has been divided in support and against Pearl.
