For the unversed, Jennifer Mistry pressed charges against producer Asit Kumarr Modi of sexual harassment. She also included operation head Sohail Ramani and executive producer Jatin Bajaj. Now, actress Priya Ahuja who played the role of Rita Reporter has made some shocking allegations against Asit Kumarr Modi.
Priya Ahuja opens up about Asit Kumarr Modi and his behaviour
The sitcom didn’t show Priya Ahuja’s character Rita for a long time. After which it came to light that she had been replaced. In a chat with Pinkvilla, Priya shared that she had texted Asit asking about her role in the TMKOC. But, he never reverted back.
Sharing her thoughts on being replaced on the show, Priya shared, “And, after eight months of keeping me hanging without any clarity, I dropped him a text on July 18 saying, ‘I quit.’ But he did not respond to my message. After a few days, I see that a new Rita Reporter has been introduced, which I know is a response to my message because Asit Modi enjoys such sadistic behaviour.”
She further spoke about the producer’s personality and revealed. Priya shared “He will not fire you but create situations where the artist loses his patience and quits the show. He must have thought that they spoke in favour of Jennifer (Bansiwal), so let me teach them a lesson but we just supported the truth.”
Priya shares that she didn’t want the makers to taunt her husband
The actress also opened up about never voicing against the makers because of her husband. Stating the reason, Priya shared, “What hurt me is that they never gave me clarity and just kept me hanging. I never said anything because I did not want them to taunt Malav. Asit has a nature of taunting people. Once Malav got into a bike accident and got knee surgery done. He was advised 1.5 months of bed rest but he returned to the show within 20 days saying that the show needs him.”
Priya Ahuja’s husband Malav Rajda used to be a director for Tarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chashmah. But, he quit the show. According to reports, he had faced creative differences with the production houses. He also shared that he wanted to grow out of his comfort zone.
On the other hand, Jennifer Mistry’s complaint is filed under IPC (Indian Penal Code) sections 354 and 509. It stands for assault or criminal force on a woman with the intent to outrage her modesty.
