Punyashlok Ahilyabai: Kinshuk Vaidya to play the role of grown up Khanderao Holkar

Punyashlok Ahilyabai, which is one of the most popular TV shows, will see a time-leap of seven years to show the new yuva adhyay (young chapter). While Ahilyabai’s role will be played by Aetasha Sansgiri, the role of Ahilyabai’s husband Khanderao will be played by popular TV actor Kinshuk Vaidya. As per Filmibeat’s report, Kiinshuk said that it is a big opportunity for him to play this role. He said, “I look forward to this enthralling experience. Moreover, I am personally fond of period dramas and historic shows as they present such dynamic stories and have so much to offer to the audience.”

In an interview with Times of India, he said that both Aditi Jaltare and Krish did a great job as Ahilyabai and Khanderao in the serial. He added how they left big shoes for Kinshuk and Aetasha to fill. “It will be a challenging task as the audience gets attached to the actors,” he said.

Kinshuk was last seen as Arjun in RadhaKrishn and is best known for his role as Sanju in the TV serial called Shaka Laka Boom Boom. He was recently hitting headlines for his split from his girlfriend. He was dating Shivya Pathania whom he met on the sets of Ek Rishta Saajhedari ka.

Speaking of the period drama, the same is based on legendary queen Ahilyabai Holkar who reigned over the region of Malwa from the year 1767 to 1795. For the unversed, she was the one who challenged 18-century societal norms and empowered several women. The titular roles were earlier played by child artists Aditi Jaltare and Krish Chauhan. The show is produced by Dashami Creations.
