Pooja Bhatt and Ranvir Shorey initially shared a close friendship that eventually blossomed into a romantic relationship. Reports indicated that they began living together and were engaged to be married. However, their relationship took a dark turn when Pooja accused Ranvir of abusive behaviour and excessive drinking. Currently, Ranvir is a contestant on Bigg Boss OTT 3. In a recent episode, he opened up about his early childhood, his mother’s death, and his journey in Bollywood, mentioning the scandal with Pooja as well.
Ranvir recalled the time of his mother’s death, mentioning that he was shooting for ‘Lakshya’ in Ladakh and returned home to find his mother ill. He later added that she passed away a few days after his return to Mumbai, and he had to inform his brothers about it over the phone.

He then said, “During the same time, I also encountered the biggest scandal of my life with another actress. Unable to cope, my brother asked me to come to the US with him for a while. I pursued a six-month acting course in the States and borrowed money from my brother. After returning from the US, I started shooting for ‘The Great Indian Comedy Show’ in 2005. At that time, two of my long-shelved films were greenlit for release and hit theatres back-to-back within a week. The films were ‘Khosla Ka Ghosla’ and ‘Pyaar Ke Side Effects,’ and my work was loved by audiences. After those films, I finally felt my life was steady as an actor and that I had arrived.”
After Pooja claimed Ranvir was an alcoholic, he maintained his side of the story. Shorey denied being an abusive partner to Pooja Bhatt. He called off their relationship after an ugly spat and left Pooja’s place.
Ranvir married Konkona Sen Sharma in 2010, and they welcomed their son, Haroon, in 2011. However, they parted ways in 2015.
