Rashami Desai hits back at trolls for fat-shaming her, says, “I can’t look 21-22 forever”

Rashami Desai has been in the news ever since she was spotted at Arti Singh and Dipak Chauhan’s pre-wedding festivities. The actresses have been friends ever since their stint in Bigg Boss 13. On the occasion of Arti’s sangeet, the Uttaran actress was spotted in a bright rese pink lehenga. However, she faced flak after netizens spotted she was uncomfortable walking in the heavy attire. A lot of people commented on her body weight as well. Rashmi has now given a befitting reply to haters trolling her.

In a conversation with Hindustan Times, the actor mentioned how there is always constant pressure to meet beauty standards. “In the glamour world, there’s pressure to meet certain beauty standards. But sometimes, people don’t realise what you are going through. I have been unwell for a few months. You can either do what you want or listen to others. I choose the former. I don’t need validation from anyone. Trolling comes with being in the public eye; it’s a part of life.”

Rashami further told trolls that she cannot look young all the time. “Surviving in this industry takes dedication. I can’t look 21-22 forever. My journey is beautiful, but change is hard for some people to accept,” she said.

She further clarified that the negativity does not affect her. “It doesn’t affect me anymore because I am not born with a golden spoon. Everything that I have learnt is on my own. The negativity around has never harmed me and that’s one of the reasons I have been very strong.”

Meanwhile, on the work front, the actor was last seen in the ‘Naagin’ franchise on television.
