Rupali Ganguly’s stepdaughter Esha Verma calls actress cruel for filing Rs 50 Cr defamation case; calls out father saying, “Punished for speaking the truth”

Esha has addressed her comments regarding her half-brother, Rudransh, clarifying that she “never involved a minor” in her statements. The stepdaughter of actor Rupali Ganguly, Esha Verma took to Instagram Stories to clarify her position following a ₹50 crore defamation notice she received from Rupali. In her post, she expressed that the notice was disturbing and cruel, and revealed their true character. Esha also criticized her father, Ashwin Verma, emphasizing that this would be her “final statement on this matter.”

In her lengthy message, Esha shared, “Hello everyone, I’m Esha Verma. Earlier this month, I made the challenging choice to speak about my personal experiences involving my father and my upbringing. This decision drew significant attention on social media and in the public sphere. Speaking out was one of the hardest things I’ve ever faced, yet it became a pivotal moment in my life, bringing clarity, peace, and freedom after years of silence. I was very aware of the potential impact on my friends and loved ones and approached it with great care.”

Esha reiterated that her intentions were never to harm anyone. “For 24 years, I felt trapped in a reality I couldn’t escape. By sharing my story, I sought to find liberation and justice. My goal was simply to illuminate the experiences that shaped me, hoping to resonate with others facing similar challenges, particularly in family dynamics. As an American citizen, I firmly exercised my right to express myself openly and honestly.”

She also criticized the reactions from Rupali and Ashwin, stating, “One crucial aspect to highlight is that a child should never be punished for speaking their truth. Despite being a young adult, I am still my father’s child. Their response to my story was deeply disturbing and revealed their true nature. I am not just an outsider; I am a direct member of their family who has been personally affected.”

Esha Verms shares photoshoot incident

Esha recalled a painful incident from a photoshoot in Mumbai, where she faced criticism about her appearance. “I don’t have connections to Bollywood or the Indian entertainment sector, nor have I participated in auditions or professional shoots in India. However, I encountered unpleasant comments during a photo shoot in 2017 that impacted my self-esteem. Nevertheless, I have worked hard to rebuild myself. I encourage everyone to embrace their individual features and celebrate the family traits that define us.”

In her remarks about Rudransh, Esha stated, “I never involved a minor in my statements. What I shared was factual: I discovered a marriage on February 6, 2013, and subsequently learned about the birth of their child on August 25 of the same year. Any other interpretations in the media were made without my consent. My focus was solely on my personal experiences and addressing two individuals directly.”

After posting her previous statement, which centred on her experiences, Esha decided to take a step back from social media to protect her peace and concentrate on the present. “This will be my final statement on this matter. I intend to clarify any misunderstandings and address questions surrounding my story and its responses. I will not engage in any interviews or further discussions about this situation moving forward. My priority now is healing, rebuilding, and embracing the next chapter of my life,” she affirmed.

Esha concluded by sharing that the past weeks have been overwhelming, prompting her to prioritize her well-being and that of her loved ones. “I realize that family is not solely about blood ties but rather about the love, support, and loyalty of those who truly stand by you. I am ready to move forward with dignity and peace. This experience, though challenging, has demonstrated my strength and resilience. Following Esha’s critical comments about Rupali and Ashwin, Rupali issued a ₹50 crore defamation notice. Subsequently, Esha deleted her video and made her account private. Rupali’s lawyer has indicated that Esha has yet to respond to the notice.
