Actor Sheezan Khan, the lead of Sab TV’s Ali Baba Dastaan-E-Kabul, was arrested by police after his co-star Tunisha Sharma died by suicide after reportedly hanging herself on the show’s sets. He was booked under section 306 of the IPC after Tunisha’s mother registered a case of abetment to suicide. Now, after being under custody for over two months, the actor was granted bail by a Maharashtra court on a bond of Rs 1 lakh on Saturday. As Sheezan Khan was granted bail, his sister Shafaq Naaz heaves a sigh of relief.
Shafaq Naaz reacts to Sheezan Khan’s bail:
Shafaq is ecstatic that his brother got bail and told Hindustan Times, “It’s finally big news (for us). We are very happy this is what we have been waiting for”, adding, “We are on our way to the court. The lawyers have started doing the paperwork.”
When asked if she got in touch with her brother, the Mahabharata actor said, “Not now. I have no idea when he will get out. But we’ll get to know soon.” Shafaq even shared a health update about her sister Falaq Naaz who was admitted to the hospital earlier in January. She said, “She is doing fine. We are fine now.”
After Sheezan was arrested, his sisters Falaq Naaz and Shafaq Naaz released a statement, mentioning that Sheezan is cooperating with the Mumbai police and following all the procedures. She even asked everyone to give them privacy on the same.
Shafaq Naaz and Falaq Naaz’s statement:
“As much as everyone is eager to know the ‘other side of the story’, we are equally curious to know, but for time being we’d like for you to allow us privacy in this grave situation. Both families are victims at this point. Let the right time come and we will address the matter for sure. But this is not the right time. A death is a painful situation everyone needs to honour the privacy of the affected Families and give them the space to mourn and carry on with the funeral first. It is such an unfortunate state that we lost a precious soul and another is arrested. Accusations have been leveled against Sheezan and the police are investigating the case. Let police take the call. I am confident that an innocent guy has been framed without an application of mind.” This situation has been overwhelming for the family members and we’d like to take this time to co-operate with the police and let the truth come out. We have complete faith in the Indian judiciary system and hope the truth shall triumph. Also, please do not take our silence for weakness; We will speak soon when the time is right. But for now, allow and respect our privacy,” Sheezan Khan sister Shafaq Naaz wrote in her statement.
