Shantanu Maheshwari is back with his second short film, ‘Special Day’. The film, which also stars the very accomplished Sheeba Chadda, highlights the special bond between a mother and her son.
Without giving away the nitty-gritty of the film, Shantanu clues in on what the story is about. He says, “The film has beautifully portrayed minute details between a mother-son relationship. A mother’s love is unconditional, she is caring, patient, determined, she is strict, she nags, she is possessive about her dabba’s, she will stuff your face with food – there are zillions of things and moments in this relationship that we can all relate to. Mother’s somehow know or gets to know what their child wants, it’s the kind of relationship everyone holds with their mother, that’s exactly what’s been shown in the film.”
The short film is available on Pocket Films YouTube channel. ‘Special Day’ is written by Prativa Archana Rathi and directed by Ajay Shivan under the production of Ek Rupaiya Production.
‘Special Day’ has garnered a lot of praise at International Film Festivals. It has bagged two awards at the Tagore International Film Festival 2020 and at the Cult Critics Awards 2020. It was also the finalist at New York Movie Award 2020 and semi-finalist at the Couch Film Festival 2020. ‘Special Day’ was also selected for the 10th Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival 2020, Rome Prisma Independent Awards 2020, Lake View International Film Festival 2020, Jaipur Film World 2020, and Filmerra International Film Festival 2020.
