However, Smriti quickly dismissed these rumours as false, commenting “Fake news!!!” in response to the speculation. Fans also joined in, responding with laughter and labelling the news as untrue.
Smriti Irani dismisses rumours of returning to TV show Anupamaa
Irani, who gained fame for her role as Tulsi Virani in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, has shifted her focus to her political career in recent years. There have been rumours about Smriti Irani returning to Television in the show Anupamaa. Despite the recent buzz about her potential comeback, she has firmly denied any such plans.
Anupamaa, which has been a dominant force in Indian television since its debut in 2020, is now set to undergo a significant 15-year generational leap. The storyline will follow the journey of Anupamaa as she seeks to reconnect with her now-grown daughter, Aadhya.
In a recent social media post, Smriti Irani shared a moment with actress Jaya Bhattacharya. She played Payal in the same show that made Irani famous. The two were captured in front of a Lord Vishnu idol, both smiling brightly. Irani dressed in a saree and Bhattacharya in a white embroidered kurta.
Rupali Ganguly as Anupamaa
Rupali Ganguly plays the lead role in Anupamaa and has had a vibrant career. She made her Bollywood debut in the 1996 film Angaara alongside Mithun Chakraborty. She later starred in several successful television serials, including Sanjivani, Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, and Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii. Ganguly truly became a household name through her portrayal of Monisha Sarabhai.
