Former actor and a Minister in the Union Cabinet of India Smriti Irani recently revealed a shocking yet emotional incident that she had before the death of Sushant Singh Rajput. During a recent interview, Irani recalled the time when she had a word with Sushant and appealed not to kill himself.

Talking about the late actor, Smriti told Neelesh Misra in The Slow Interview, “The day Sushant died, I was on a VC (video conference). There were many people. But I just couldn’t (continued)….I said stop it. I felt like, why did he not call me? He should have called once. I had told that boy, ‘Tum yaar maarna mat apne aap ko’ (Please don’t kill yourself).”
The Kai Po Che actor killed himself after reportedly hanging himself at his Bindra residence. Sushant died on June 14, 2020.
Smriti calls Amit Sadh out of concern:
Right after Sushant Singh Rajput’s death news broke out, the Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi actor further revealed she called Sushant’s co-star Amit Sadh out of concern and wanted to know if he was doing okay.
“Instantly, I was scared for Amit Sadh. I called him and asked him what he is up to. I knew, kuch gadbad karega bachcha (He would do something stupid). Usne mujhe kaha, mujhe nahi rehna, kya kiya is idiot ne (He told me, I don’t want to live, what did this idiot do) I got the sense that something is wrong. He asked me, ‘You don’t have work?’ I said, ‘I do, but just let’s talk‘”, Smriti continued adding that they spoke for six hours.
Sushant Singh Rajput death news shocked the entire nation. The actor made his debut with Kai Po Che, helmed by Abhishek Kapoor. His last film was Dil Bechara which moved everyone into tears.
