Currently, we are going through unsettling times. The spread of the novel Coronavirus has created stress and anxiety among all of us. Pregnant women in different parts of the world are worrying a lot more as they are tensed about the arrival of their babies amidst these testing times.
‘Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi’ fame actress Smriti Khanna is expecting her first child with her actor-husband, Gautam Gupta. Nine-months pregnant Smriti shared her experience with Bollywood Bubble as to how she is coping with the after-effects of lockdown at this stage of her pregnancy.
Smriti said she was panicking before the lockdown came to force. “Gautam, my father, and brother-in-law, everyone was going out to work and I was the only one staying at home. So, I was panicking a lot at that time because they used to come back home meeting lots of people. There was no much information about pregnant women and coronavirus. That was causing anxiety which is not good at this time. I was trying to keep myself calm. When the lockdown happened, I was a little relieved in fact. So in that way, we are in a safer environment now but still, I am thinking of what will happen after April 14,” shared the actress.

Smriti also feels sad that her parents won’t be able to come to see their first grandchild. She said, “My parents stay in Delhi and they are so excited about their first grandchild. They were about to surprise me and asked Gautam to call them when I go to the labour room and they will take flight and will surprise me before I deliver. Now, they can’t come and even after the flights start operating, it’s very risky that they directly come and meet the baby.”
The actress believes in positivity and feels that all the mothers who are expecting right now are the strongest. She also had some important advice for them. She shared, “Even if you are locked down at home, there are lots of videos online of workout and yoga. There are apps that tell you what workout you can do during pregnancy. To deal with your anxiety, spend time with your loved ones, watch your favourite shows, meditate.”
On the work front, Smriti is currently writing for a web show. And she alongwith her husband is planning to produce something of their own in the coming future.
