Sooraj Thapar opens up on friend Ashiesh Roy’s demise; says, “He had received enough money to pay his hospital bills”

Television’s popular actor Ashiesh Roy breathed his last today. He was 55. The ‘Sasural Simar Ka’ actor was suffering from kidney ailments for a long time. Amidst the lockdown, his financial condition has worsened so much so that he had to seek help for his treatment via social media.

The late actor had appealed people to help him monetarily as he was not in a condition to afford his own treatment. After his appeal on social media, several celebs from the entertainment industry had come forward to offer him help. Actor Sooraj Thapar revealed that his friend Ashiesh’s condition had improved after he was hospitalised. He also said that the late actor received enough help to come out of the financial crisis.

Speaking to SpotBoyE, ‘Sasural Genda Phool’ actor Sooraj said, “Unfortunately he has left us. I also came to know about his sad demise two hours back and currently on my way to his residence. He was all well after he was hospitalised in May-June and became active also. He had also got a show on Colors TV and was shooting for that. He also got a few dubbing projects, he was known for his voice and had a very good command on English and Hindi. But today around 3:30-4 he woke up and found difficulty in breathing. So the caretaker who used to stay with him asked if he could make tea for him. He said no and the very same moment closed his eyes in his lap.”

Speaking about Ashiesh’s financial condition, Sooraj told the tabloid, “Our actor friends and even those who were not his friends helped him financially. He had received enough money to pay his hospital and medical bills. His sister also helped him with some amount. So money was no more an issue for him.”

Sooraj also revealed that Ashiesh’s sister had come to stay with him after the lockdown was lifted. When she went back home, the actor was fine but unfortunately, he passed away today.

The late actor was unmarried. He is survived by his sister, who is on her way to Mumbai from Kolkata.
