Special Ops 1.5 actor Vivek Madaan opens up about portraying an older character in the web series

There was a time when actors were apprehensive of taking on older parts for the fear of being typecast in the age category played on-screen. But in a brave new world, with advancements in VFX tech and make-up tools, there are actors in the present day who are willing to experiment with the roles they play on screen, in order to broaden the scope of their creative ability. One such actor is Vivek Madaan. In Neeraj Pandey’s original web series ‘Special Ops 1.5’, Vivek Madaan plays the role of the antagonist Sankalp Chaudhary. Vivek Madaan opened up about playing an older character in the series Special Ops 1.5.

The young actor has a brief appearance in the latest, much-appreciated action thriller to release on the web, but leaves an indelible impression as the kingpin of an international honey-trapping operation, which is the central theme of this prequel. The actor spoke about working with Neeraj Pandey and Kay Kay Menon.

Talking about the show, Vivek says, “When offering me the role of the suave & sophisticated mastermind Sankalp Choudhary, Neeraj Sir was candid enough to tell me about the brevity of the role. But to even be considered for such a prestigious show by Neeraj Sir, whose work I have long admired, for 1 small scene with an actor like KK Saahab was an absolute no-brainer! To get to work with these two creative giants of the business is an opportunity I possibly couldn’t pass. I am happy that the look and character design have been very well-received.”

The series also stars Kay Kay Menon, Aftab Shivdasani, Vinay Pathak, Aadil Khan, Aishwarya Sushmita and others. Season 1 of the series had received 8 nominations for the Filmfare.
