Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah director Malav Rajda has quit the popular sitcom, after a long stint of 14 years. The filmmaker has announced his exit from the show, days after actors Raj Anadkat, and Shailesh Lodha called it quits. He also revealed he had ‘no fallout’ with the production house, amidst rumours of his differences with the makers.
Malav Rajda said he has only gratitude for the show TMKOC and the makers. The Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah director reacted to the rumours about him having creative differences with the makers. And, Rajda clarified that his decision to quit was solely because he had gone into a “comfort zone” and he wanted to “grow creatively“.
Speaking with Hindustan Times, Malav said, “If you are set out to do good work, there will be creative differences within the team but it’s always to improve the show. I had no fallout with the production house. I only have gratitude for the show and for Asit bhai (Modi, show producer).”

When asked about his reason to quit the show, the TMKOC director shared that he wants to grow creatively and challenge himself. He said, “After doing the show for 14 years, I thought I had gone into a comfort zone. I thought to grow creatively it’s best to move out and challenge myself.”
On his 14-year long journey, Rajda revealed, “These 14 years have been the most beautiful years of my life. I not only earned fame and money but also got my life partner Priya (Ahuja Rajda, actor-wife) from this show.”
Meanwhile, Malav Rajda spent his last day on the TMKOC sets, on December 15. He filmed for the sitcom on his last day.
