The new period drama titled The Empire just dropped yesterday and the show has been getting a crazy response. The Empire stars Kunal Kapoor, Dino Morea, Shabana Azmi, Drashti Dhami, Aditya Seal, Sahher Bambba, Rahul Dev and others in lead roles and the series has been produced on quite a great scale. But. The Empire has been compared a lot to the hit show Game Of Thrones since the day it was announced. But are there really any parallels between The Empire and the Game Of Thrones. In an exclusive chat with us, the cast of Empire- Kunal Kapoor, Dino Morea and Drashti Dhami reacted to the comparisons.

Kunal Kapoor told Bollywood Bubble, “I think these are unnecessary comparisons. Comparisons will be made and it is tragic that it is Game Of Thrones because it is a fantastic show. Whenever you do a period drama like that it will be compared to something. Some will say it is like Padmaavat, Bajirao or Game Of Thrones, but it is a different story, it’s a different world, different characters different people. If people are comparing the scale (to GOT) then great, it’s wonderful, but I dont think there is any other commonality between that show and this show.”

When we asked Dino if he is aware of Shebani Khan being compared to Ranveer Singh’s Khilji in Padmaavat, Dino said, “If you compare me to someone who has done a fantastic job then chalo theek hai. I’m okay with it. Because Ranveer has done a fantastic job as Khilji. I have not been influenced by what he did as Khilji. I have tried to introduce my madness. So I am ok with the comparison as long as it is to the best.”
