TKSS: Here’s what advice Dharmendra gave bestie Shatrughan Sinha when he was nervous to dance in public

Actors Dharmendra and Shatrughan Sinha were the celebrity guests on the latest episode of The Kapil Sharma Show. The veteran actors reminisced about their evergreen friendship, pulled each other’s leg, and revealed the secret behind their close bonding. Comedian Kapil Sharma, who has shown great respect for both the actors, ensured that the evening was full of fun, laughs and dances. During the episode, the two veterans shared much fun banters.

Shatrughan said, “Jitna kaam kiya, kitna naam kiya, kitna handsome, jitna chah logon mein rahi, apart from all that, usne ek kaam zabardast kiya — ishq kiya. (Apart from all the respect and love he has earned, there’s one thing he’s done even better: love.) He has always remained a one-woman man, at a time,” to which Dharmendra responded, “Bahut shararati ho gaya (You’ve become very naughty).” The host Kapil Sharma asked the two actors the secret behind their friendship. “Bahut had tak haarkattein milti hai, jo maine usse hi seekha hai (Our behaviours are the same, and I’ve learnt it from him).”

Shatrughan Sinha remembered the first time he had to dance in public. “Mera pehla gaana public mein, Shor Mach Gaya Shor. Jab woh picturise hona tha, main bahut nervous tha, maine public mein nahin kiya (When that had to picturised, I was very nervous as I had never performed in public). He added that when the crowds came by hundreds, he turned to ‘the greatest dancer’ Dharmendra for advice and asked him what to do. Dharmendra had responded, “You do what I did. Tika le (take a drink).”

Things got a bit emotional when the host displayed a picture of Dharmendra with the late actor Dilip Kumar. The former recalled how the latter’s films inspired him to be an actor. He shared the first film he watched of the legendary actor was Shaheed, when he was in the 9th standard. “After seeing him I said ‘Itna pyaara insaan hai, I should get this love’.” He also recited a poem for Dilip Kumar. “Naukri karta, cycle pe aata jata. Filmy posters me apni jhalak dekhta. Raaton ke jaagta, anhone khwaab dekhta. Subah uthkar aaine se puchta, mai Dilip Kumar ban sakta hu kya.”

The episode was also special for Archana Puran Singh as she got to fulfil her wish of dancing with Dharmendra.
