TMKOC: Is Disha Vakani aka Dayaben returning to the show? Here’s what producer Asit Modi has to say

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is one of the longest running sitcoms. It has been recently in the news for Shailesh Lodha aka Taarak Mehta’s exit from the show. However, Sachin Shroff has replaced Lodha as the new Taarak. But, the makers are yet to find a replacement for Disha Vakani who played Dayaben. Earlier, there were reports that Disha might return to the comedy show. Also, earlier, she appeared in a promo that made her fans think she will return finally. But, Disha is not coming back and this has been confirmed by producer, Asit Modi.

As per a report in Pinkvilla, Modi has opened up on Disha’s exit from TMKOC and said that she is not returning as Dayaben. He said, “Daya bhabhi is a character audience is unable to forget. People feel its absence. Disha Vakani, I respect her…covid ke time I waited, I’m waiting even today and pray to God for her to return”.

Fans have been waiting for Disha to be back on the show as she was one of the most loved characters. The producer said, “Try to understand Disha’s point as well..she too had the hunger of doing this but after marriage, they have a separate life and responsibilities.”

The makers are auditioning for the character of Dayaben and we might soon see a new Dayaben on the show in the future. Till then, you guys stay tuned to this space for more such updates on telly world.
