TMKOC: Neha Mehta CLARIFIES about her comeback: Never called the producer or expressed my wish to return

When Neha Mehta quit Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah after 13 years of her stint, many were left shocked. However, the actress decided not to return to TMKOC shoot after the COVID-19 lockdown. Neha, who played Anjali Mehta on TMKOC, was then replaced by Sunayana Fozdar. A few days after Sunayana took over Anjali’s role in the show, speculations started doing the rounds that Neha wants to return to TMKOC.

Rumours had it that Neha wished to return to TMKOC, and had reportedly also called the producer to talk about her comeback. Yes, sources had previously confirmed that Neha Mehta had called Asit Kumarr Modi expressing her desire to return to TMKOC. However, now Neha has ‘squashed all the rumours. Yes, Neha has denied the news that she ever called the TMKOC producer or expressed her wish to return to the show.

Opening up to the Times of India, Neha has refuted the rumours calling them false. The actress said that there is no truth to these rumours. Neha added that she will only consider her comeback to TMKOC if the viewers, production house, and channel want her. “After quitting the show, I have never called the producer or expressed my wish to return,” clarified Neha. She also said that her first priority will always be the audience, who have given her all the love and respect. Lastly, sharing her stance, Neha said that she does not know how these have surfaced.

Further, talking about her comeback to TMKOC, Neha asserted that her return depends on the audience and she has given her best to the show. Neha also went on to clarify that she has nothing against Asit sir or the TMKOC production house. “I want to stand for what I truthfully believe in and therefore I quit the show. I don’t want to create a negative situation, so I have maintained a dignified silence,” reiterated Neha.

The talented actress also said that she does not have to prove her reason for quitting Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. She wishes to do good karma with God’s blessings. Currently, Neha is busy shooting for her Gujarati film and she revealed she had received offers for other TV shows also.

Earlier, Asit Modi had opened up about Neha’s exit and said that they did not have major issues. While he tried to handle things, Neha decided to leave anyway.
