Ananya Panday, who began her acting career in 2019 with Student of the Year 2 is all set to step into the digital space. The ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh’ actress will be making her web series debut with Amazon Prime’s upcoming show, ‘Call Me Bae’. The show, which will see Ananya’s character go from being a stylish heiress to a stylish hustler, is backed by Dharmatic Entertainment Pvt.
Today, Amazon Prime announced its new and exciting slate. The event, which saw the streaming giant unveil a plethora of titles, also saw Karan Johar unveil Ananya’s look in the highly awaited series ‘Call Me Bae’.
In the first look poster, Ananya Panday looks glamorous in a champagne-coloured dress featuring a crisscross choker neckline that despite showing some skin looks modest. She styles the figure-enhancing dress with eye-catching statement earrings complete with coloured stones, a couple of rings and a complimenting nail paint on her manicured fingers. The champagne glass, glamorous makeup and centre-parter behind-the-ears hairdo make her look elegant.
Karan Johar shared Ananya Panday’s first look from Call Me Bae along with a brief of the show. It reads, “Downsized from heiress to hustler, Bae discovers that her most valuable assets aren’t her diamonds, but her street smarts and style. Broke but refusing to be broken, she navigates the newsrooms of Mumbai, finding beaus, behens, and her better self.”
About Call Me Bae
The upcoming series is helmed by director Collin D’cunha and created by Ishita Moitra. Produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra under the Dharmatic Entertainment Pvt Ltd banner, the upcoming series featured an ensemble cast. Besides Ananya Panday, the show will also see Gurfateh Pirzada, Varun Sood, Vihaan Samat, Muskkkaan Jaferi, Niharika Lyra Dutt, Lisa Mishra and Mini Mathur in pivotal roles. Call Me Bae is written by writers Ishita Moitra, Samina Motlekar and Rohit Nair. Its official release date is yet to be announced.
