On January 23, Boman Irani shared the exciting news on Instagram. He wrote, “48 hours 2 people 1 epic story #TheMehtaBoysOnPrime, Feb 7.” The film had its world premiere at the 15th Chicago South Asian Film Festival on September 20, 2024.

Boman Irani received the Best Actor Male award in the feature film category. It was at the International Film Festival of South Asia (IFFSA) Toronto Film Festival and the South Asian Film Association (SAFA) award for his outstanding performance.

The Mehta Boys tells the story of a strained father-son relationship that forces them to spend 48 hours together. This leads them to a tumultuous yet transformative journey. The film captures the raw and relatable dynamics of their bond, providing an emotionally resonant narrative.

The Mehta Boys’ praise

The film has already garnered praise on the festival circuit. It won the Best Feature Film Award at the Chicago South Asian Film Festival. Nikhil Madhok, Head of Originals at Prime Video India, remarked, “‘The Mehta Boys’ is a poignant and beautifully crafted film.
