Former air hostess Noor Malabika Das – who also starred in the Kajol-led web series The Trail, is no more. The actress allegedly died by suicide. As per reports, police have recovered her body from her flat in Lokhandwala on June 6.
Noor Malabika Das dies by suicide
As reported by Mid-Day, Noor is believed to have hanged herself from the bedroom fan. According to police sources, the sad incident came to light when the actress’ neighbours reported a foul smell coming from her flat. This prompted them to inform the Oshiwara police. Upon breaking and entering the flat, police found Noor’s body hanging from the ceiling fan in a decomposed condition. The police collected medicines, her mobile phone and diary during the search of the house.
After conducting a panchnama, Noor Malabika Das’ body was taken to Goregaon’s Siddharth Hospital for a post-mortem. Despite efforts to contact her family, no one came forward. The police performed her last rites on Sunday with the assistance of the Mamdani Health and Education Trust NGO, which handles the cremation of unclaimed bodies in the city. An officer said, “We spoke to her family. They had returned to their native place two weeks ago. Investigation is underway.“
A close friend of Noor, actor Aloknath Pathak, informed, “I am saddened by this. I have known Noor for years and worked with her in many films and series.” He continued, “Until last month, her family was living with her in Mumbai. The family returned to the village a week ago. She was living in this flat on rent.”
