Taali Trailer: Sushmita Sen fighting with the nation for transgender rights is terrifically inspiring

Actor Sushmita Sen is all set to leave the audience spellbound with her performance in Taali after the trailer was released. Taali web-series is about her journey from Ganesh to Gauri which is hard-hitting and inspiring. The trailer starts with a little Ganesh whose dream is to become a mother but he has been mocked, saying boys can’t become a mother. Soon he starts dressing up like a woman and dances with them. As he grows up, he realises that he is transgender and there’s no different place in the constitution.

Ganesh then changes himself to a woman and becomes Gauri who then resides with the transgender community. However, her aim is to bring rights to the transgender community. She files a petition to Supreme Court for equal rights for transgender people as well. The Taali trailer captures the journey of Gauri’s fight with the nation and the constitution. And it is quite intriguing.

Speaking about Sushmita’s performance, she killed it with her acting prowess. The former Miss Universe beautifully transformed herself into a transgender. From her look as a boy to a transgender, Sushmita demands all the attention. Not just her look, Sushmita’s voice modulation also grabs attention and she plays it with utmost dedication.

Taali web series seemed to be a biopic as it is based on Shreegauri Sawant who is a transgender activist. As per the reports, in 2014, Shreegauri became the first transgender person to file a petition in the Supreme Court for the adoption rights of transgender people. In the trailer as well, you will see Gauri with a baby girl.

Directed by Ravi Jadhav and written by Kshitij Patwardhan, Taali is set to release on August 15 on Jio Cinemas.
