Taali teaser: Sushmita Sen brings forth Shreegauri Sawant’s inspiring journey ‘gaali se, taali tak’ and it will pinch you

Sushmita Sen is back to take the OTT world by storm with her upcoming web series Taali. The series was announced last year and since then we have been eagerly waiting to get a glimpse into the story. Taali is based on the true story of Shreegauri Sawant’s fight for India’s third gender! On Saturday, Sushmita Sen took to her Instagram to share the teaser of Taali.

The teaser introduces us to the real-life character Sushmita is playing onscreen. It gives a sneak peek at the courageous quest of struggles, resilience and triumph of Shreegauri Sawant. Taali shows us that we can expect some really powerful dialogues and one-liners which is about to give us goosebumps. Sushmita’s acting prowess shines as she brings life to the storyline. The title of the show, “Taali, बजाऊँगी नहीं, बजवाऊँगी” in itself is so striking, it means “Taali (clap), I won’t clap, I will make others clap.”

Taali will shed light on transgender activist Shreegauri Sawant’s relentless pursuit of the recognition of the third gender in India. Her story is nothing less than inspiring. We bet its about to give us goosebumps.

On the other hand, fans seem to love Sushmita Sen’s role. The comment section of her teaser is filled with all praise. A fan wrote, “Wow u are something else,” another comment read, “More power to empower others.”

Arjun Singgh Baran and Kartk D Nishandar created Taali, directed by National award-winning director Ravi Jadhav, with the writing done by Kshitij Patwardhan. The series is produced by Arjun Singgh Baran, Kartk D Nishandar (GSEAMS Production), and Afeefa Nadiadwala. JioCinema will premiere the series on 15 August 2023 onwards.
