‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’ fame, Karan Patel makes a shocking revelation of ‘reporting drunk on sets’

‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’ fame, Karan Patel is surely on cloud nine on professional as well as the personal front. The recently-turned-father will be soon be seen in Rohit Shetty’s Fear Factor show, ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ season 10. In a recent conversation, Karan Patel made a shocking revelation of how he had to deal with a tough phase in his life. He revealed how he had reported to the shooting sets in an inebriated state.

Recalling about his past in a recent interview with Bombay Times, the ‘Kasturi’ actor, opened up saying, “I messed up badly. Stardom got to my head, and I got too big for my boots during the course of my show, Kasturi (2007-2009). I would report late, that too, drunk, on the set. I thought that I could get away with it because I had become an overnight star. But not everyone will tolerate that kind of behavior for long. The show ended and I was out of work for a couple of years.”

Today, Karan Patel is among the list of top actors in the TV-town. The ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi 10’ contestant is also among the highest-paid contestants on the show. He further recalls the moment, when he had to apologize to Ekta Kapoor for his behavior. He says, “I remember apologizing to Ekta (Kapoor) for the mistakes I made in the past and telling her that I won’t repeat them. But I also told her that I will make newer mistakes. No man is perfect. Everybody needs a second chance in life and I am glad that I got it.” 

He also says that stardom is a great achievement and he realised that it’s more important to maintain it for a long period of time. He says upon realisation, he started working hard on himself and he made efforts to rectify his approach toward work.
