Watch: Radhika Apte in Sujoy Ghosh’s ‘Ahalya’

Sujoy Ghosh’s upcoming film ‘Ahalya’ starring Radhika Apte, Soumitra Chatterjee and Tota Roy Chowdhury revolves around Hindu mythology. The central character of Ahalya is played by Radhika Apte, the director known for his feminist based films has done the same for here too.

Ahalya a beautiful young woman who was married to older sage Gautama Maharishi. Ahalya’s overwhelming beauty had forced Indra to come in her husband’s disguise in order to lure her. When Gautama Rishi realizes what had happened he punishes Ahalya by turning her into stone.

Sujoy Ghosh’s Ahalya is based on the same concept but with a modern touch to it. The trailer of the film has taken the social media by storm.
