Mrs Chopra recalled when her husband had sleepless nights before release of his film Daag. She always believed in him even he wasn’t sure.
Anupam Kher recalled Mrs Chopra always supported her husband. He said, “The kind of importance Yash Ji had on the set, Pam Chopra had off the set.”
Uday Chopra revealed Yash Ji reached out to his wife to understand the female perspective, made notes from their chats, adding them to his female roles.
Poonam Dhillon said, “I think that the credit for getting Punjabi music into the films was partly Pam Chopra Ji’s.”
Kajol said, “She was the one who made sure that everybody knew everybody and everybody kept in touch with everybody.”
Amitabh Bachchan said, “Pam was somewhere in the background, but all her thoughts, and her thinking, were always in the foreground.”
Yash Chopra and Pamela Chopra had an arranged marriage in 1970. They are survived by their sons, Aditya Chopra and Uday Chopra.
